This Sunday (13th March 2011) sees the second heat of the FOM- Fest battle of the bands taking place at Ronnie’s Bar. As with last week Macc Music will be on the judging panel.

Last weeks heat 1 ended with Carjack Malone and Old Yellow going through on default, unfortunately the other two bands could not make it. Well done to both bands who put on solid sets.

This weeks heat will showcase the talents of the following local acts at the following times (slots subject to change so make sure you get down there in good time!)…

• Hot Vestry 4:00-4:45pm
• Tasers: 5:00-5:45pm
• Simple Confessions: 6:00-6:45pm
• Zap Zap Zap: 7:00-7:45pm

All of the four bands have built a buzz for themselves around the local and Manchester area so it is set to be a fantastic night of live music!
The event is free to come and watch. As per last week 2 of the 4 bands will be going through to the next round of the comp which will see the winner earn a coveted slot at the May FOM-Fest at Capesthorne hall.

So come on people, support the local talent and get down to Ronnie’s for 4. Hopefully see you there!

This Sunday (6th March 2011) sees the first heat of the FOM-Fest battle of the bands which will be held at Ronnie’s Bar in Macclesfield. The event will take over the monthly slot of the popular “Macc Sabbath Live”. The first four lucky acts to have secured a place in the competition are Old Yellow, Carjack Mallone and Four-Max. The music starts from 4.00pm and goes on until 8.00pm. It is going to be a fantastic opportunity to catch all the new up and coming musical talent in Macclesfield and it is free… so it is a bit of a no brainer really! The overall winners of the competition will win a coveted place at the upcoming FOM-Fest that is happening at Capesthorne Hall over the weekend of the 20th March. With the chance to play along side massive names such as The Charlatans, Twisted Wheel, The Fall and Buzzcocks to name just a few it is an amazing opportunity for whoever is victorious!

As founders of Macc Music we have been asked to sit in on the judging panel alongside some other familiar faces from the Macclesfield music scene. We are looking forward to it and hope to see you all there to join us in watching all four of these great acts play live in the courtyard at Ronnie’s Bar!

Hello and welcome to Macc Music!

Its been a long time in the pipeline but we’ve finally pulled our finger out and got it done!

We’ve built this site mainly to help local musicians and venues get the exposure and advertising they need and deserve. For too long there has been no central location for Macclesfield’s music scene, a site based entirely around the performance and appreciation of music, from an unbiased and community perspective.
