This is our 3rd event and we’re looking to get even more people down and invovled in our DJing and Mixtape Competition.
We’re looking for people to put together a 15 min mix of their favourite songs to play via CDJ, Laptop or Turntable. This will then be judged by the crowd and our expert, with the winner receiving prize money a chance to play a full set at our next event.

This weekend Ronnie’s has a couple of brilliant Australian singers performing their own original songs here on what will hopefully be a lovely Summer’s evening.
Coby Grant is in the middle of a European tour and one of her songs has now been adopted by Coca Cola in Sweden. Coby is influenced by Carole King and Joni Mitchell. New York publication The Aquarium Weekly has this to say about her:
“Music with a simple sweet charm that will stick with the listener long after they hear it.”
Along with Coby, we also have Prita whose influences include India Arie, Tracy Chapman, Norah Jones and Diana Krall.
Prita has her own brand of music she dubs Hip-So-Fo which is an amazing combination of Hip Hop, Soul & Folk. Prita has a brilliant jazzy, bluesy voice and adds some vocal beat boxing to her acoustic guitar and stomp box.
Really please don’t miss these performers, it will be an absolute treat and will be amongst the best live music entertainment you will get all year. And it’s free to get in!
We’ve got clips of the two at http://www.ronnies-bar.co.uk/more-live-music-at-ronnies/
We are putting on a DJ comp, showcasing all styles and abilities. Each DJ gets 15 mins to impress the crowd with their skills. The winner gets prize money and a set at the next gig.
We kick off at 10pm (after the rough twist gig) and will be all done by about 12:30, as it is a school night.
Expect all types of music, it will be a treat to hear the different types of genre’s back to back.
