Gideon Conn + band w/ support from Glass Ankle – Thursday 20th October @ The Snowgoose

This one shows all the potential to be one of the best gigs Macclesfield has hosted this year.

For those of you unfamiliar with the charismatic gent, Gideon Conn, here is a little bit of info:

Gideon is a uniquely gifted songwriter who uses a broad spectrum of music to conjure up songs that you will never have heard the like of before. Whether solo acoustic or with his lively and lovable band, he never fails to fill you with wonder and leave you with a massive grin!

The band formed around Gideon in 2005, and have gone from strength to strength. They have wowed at major festivals and toured with some fantastic artists. They released a catchy, hip hop/indie crossover single called ‘i want you around’ which was well received by radio – playlisted on Xfm and awarded breakfast single of the week on BBC 6 music as well being championed by Huw Stevens and Rob da Bank on Radio 1.

Gideon’s Debut album entitled New Bop Sounds’ was released in July 2010 on Manchester indie label skinny dog, which by I am kloot an Guy Garvey from Elbow. Prior to the Album, Gideon is released a single for the World Football Cup 2010 called ‘Get Your Hopes Up’ which is a duet with Clint Boon of the Inspiral Carpets

CASIMIR EFFECT @ THE SNOW GOOSE THIS THURSDAY (22ND SEPTEMBER)

Manchester band CASIMIR EFFECT will be performing their unique and refreshing brand of Rock & Roll this Thursday at The Snow Goose.

Widely respected on the Manchester indie scene, Casimir Effect has performed in venues such as The Jacksons Pit, The Castle, Gullivers, MOHO, Kraak Gallery, The Woodman festival and Roadhouse.
